Trees are lifting in the breeze
preceding the usual fog roaring silently in,
Gathered vapor wraiths from the interface
of cold ocean currents and cooling air.
As heat and pressure differentials intensify,
wind funnels at hurricane strength through the Golden Gate.
Every third summer day California breathes:
the land heating and cooling on a different schedule to the sea:
Oh the allegory of science.
You are my favorite too, a shimmering overlap of near and far,
and other opposites, all of which are true.
